We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will provide comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct eye exams, diagnose vision problems, and prescribe corrective lenses or other treatments as needed. Additionally, you will play a key role in educating patients about proper eye care and promoting overall eye health.
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess visual acuity and detect any abnormalities or vision problems
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and dry eyes
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, or other vision aids based on individual patient needs
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and opticians, to ensure coordinated patient care
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and preventive measures to maintain optimal eye health
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry practices and technologies
Skills:
- Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of eyewear options to patients
- Experience in senior care to address the unique vision needs of elderly patients
- Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation and record keeping
- Specialization or experience in pediatrics to provide specialized care for children's vision needs
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with patients of all ages
- Knowledge of optical principles and ability to recommend appropriate eyewear options based on individual patient needs
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry practices
