Summary:

Are you an enthusiastic Optometrist with an interest in working in a collaborative team environment in the beautiful city of Victoria? We are a fast paced clinic comprised of a team of 5 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists, who provide full scope medical eye care and surgery. We also offer enhanced dry eye services and laser refractive surgery in our private surgery center. We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team and provide exceptional medical co-management and dry eye services. The practice is well-equipped with the latest technology to provide medical eye care services all supported by a a large team of ophthalmic technicians and staff.

Job type: Full Time or Part Time - week days only, flexible hours

**Responsibilities**

  • Guide cataract and lasik surgery patients throughout the pre and postoperative process. Make recommendations and educate patients on intraocular lens choices and desired refractive outcomes.
  • Co-manage patients referred to our clinic for chronic and acute ocular disease
  • Provide specialized care for patients suffering from dry eye syndrome, including enhanced diagnostic testing and treatment (Lipiscan, BlephEx, LipiFlow, Intense Pulse Light, Punctal Plugs, Autologous Serum Tears)
  • Educate patients on maintaining optimal eye health and preventing eye diseases through lifestyle changes and proper eye care practices.

**Requirements**

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license to practice optometry in British Columbia
  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on diagnosing and managing ocular surface conditions in order to optimize surgical refractive outcomes
  • Experience in providing dry eye services and utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and counsel patients.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative team environment.
  • Dedication to staying current with advancements in optometry and dry eye management through continuing education and professional development.
