Summary: Summerland Optometry is seeking an associate optometrist to join our growing practice in September 2024, starting at 2-3 days per week. We are looking for a permanent, compassionate and motivated optometrist to start 2-3 days per week as well as 1 Saturday a month with the ability for future growth to 4 days a week. We want to find the right long-term fit for our practice to all enjoy a work-life balance in the beautiful Okanagan. We practice full scope optometry and offer competitive compensation. Summerland Optometry is a well-established independent, private practice in Summerland, BC. We have great optical sales and offer specialty services including vision therapy and dry eye. We have many longstanding loyal patients as well as a steady flow of new patients. We have a large dispensary and in-house lab with a spacious office with room for growth. Our team of 10 excellent and knowledgeable staff are also available to support you. Our new associate would have their own fully equipped exam lane with full pretest including: auto-refraction, optos imaging, case history and tonometry before the examination. We have very advanced technology and hope to continue to expand: • OCT • Meibography and anterior segment camera • InMode IPL and Radiofrequency • Optos Retinal Camera • NCT with Pachymetry • Corneal topographer • Visual Field • Auto-Refractor • Vision therapy lane Summerland is a beautiful place to live, with a population of about 12,000 people; it is on the Okanagan Lake and is within easy access of the larger centers of Kelowna and Penticton. Apex Ski resort is only 40 minutes away. The ideal candidate would be an optometrist that values continual growth. We offer vision therapy and would want our associate to be involved in the program. We can provide training including the Sanet online courses. The OEPF courses would be strongly recommended as well. We also aim to go the annual Dry Eye Summit in Toronto to stay up-to-date with the latest dry eye treatment options for our patients. Our local ophthalmologists are quite booked up, so we end up managing glaucoma patients as well. Both our optometrists love learning and we would like an associate that has this drive as well.
