YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience as an Optometrist are required to hold the position proposed.
DUTIES:
- Performs general and specific eye examinations on clients;
- Complete patient files and optical prescriptions following oculo-visual examinations;
- Proceed with the billing for covered patients under the provincial health system;
- Advise staff of private fees to be billed to patients;
- Participate in daily preparation meetings with other team members;
- Follow-up (communications, reports, referrals) with other professionals or patients as needed; and
- Completes and/or validates the selection of vision correction options made by other team members (prescribing opticians and/or optometric assistants) as needed.
CONDITIONS OF THE EMPLOYMENT
- Receive patients at the clinics for an average of 40 hours per week, 48 weeks per year.
- All equipment required for the practice of the profession is provided as well as the appropriate support staff
LANGUGE REQUIREMENT
ANNUAL REMUNERATION
- Depending on the number of patients seen and the duration of each examination, between $150,000 and $250,000.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Three years of university undergraduate studies and a four- to five-year university program in optometry are required.
- Licensing by the provincial regulatory governing body is ultimately required. Accepting candidates who not yet completed the process with the provincial regulatory governing body and are able to complete the equivalency process.
