Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and community-minded Associate Optometrist to join our team at our New Westminster clinic and Suter Brook Optometry Clinic in Port Moody. This position offers a unique combination of community-based private practice and meaningful outreach work. In addition to providing patient care in our clinics, the successful candidate will join our outreach teams travelling to First Nations communities to provide accessible, high-quality eye care.
The position
- [Full-time/part-time] associate position with a flexible schedule
- Regular clinic days in New Westminster and/or Port Moody
- Participation in scheduled overnight outreach trips to First Nations communities
- Paid travel time for all outreach trips
- All outreach-related travel expenses covered
- Comprehensive eye examinations and ongoing patient care
- Collaboration with an experienced and supportive clinical team
The ideal candidate
- Licensed, or eligible for registration, with the College of Optometrists of British Columbia
- Committed to thoughtful, patient-centred care
- Respectful, adaptable and comfortable working with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Interested in culturally safe care and building positive relationships with First Nations communities
- Willing and able to participate in overnight travel
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of an outreach team
- Previous experience in community, rural or Indigenous health care would be an asset but is not required.
